How to download TikTok videos in HD
To download a TikTok video in HD, copy the link of a public post, paste it into the box above and press Download. If TikTok provides a higher-quality file for that post, SaveMyClip shows it as the main button. Quality depends on the original upload, so not every video has an HD version.
This page is for people who care about sharpness: saving clips to edit, re-watch on a bigger screen or keep in a personal collection. If you mainly want to know how the watermark is handled, read the TikTok video downloader without watermark page instead.
4 steps to save a TikTok video in high quality
Open the public post
Open the video in the TikTok app or a browser. Private posts cannot be downloaded.
Copy the link
Tap Share, then Copy link. The menu can look slightly different between app versions.
Paste and press Download
Paste the link into the field at the top of this page and press the Download button.
Choose the HD file
When an HD version exists, the HD button is shown first. Tap it and your browser saves the MP4.
HD vs standard TikTok video: what is the difference?
TikTok can store more than one version of a video. The HD version usually keeps more detail, which you notice on large screens, when zooming in or when editing. The standard version is lighter and downloads faster.
| Point | Standard file | HD file |
|---|---|---|
| Detail | Good for small phone screens | Better for big screens and editing |
| File size | Smaller | Usually larger |
| Availability | Almost every public post | Only when TikTok provides it |
We do not upscale or re-encode videos. You get the file TikTok serves, so the result can never be sharper than the original upload.
No HD button? Try these checks
- The upload itself may be low quality. If the creator posted a small or heavily compressed file, no HD version exists.
- Try the original post link. Use the link of the video itself, not a profile, sound or search page.
- Test another post. This tells you whether the issue is that one video or your link.
- Wait and retry. TikTok sometimes limits requests for a short time.
How to check the quality of the saved file
On a phone: open the file in your gallery, pause on a detailed frame and zoom in. On a PC: right-click the file, open Properties, then the Details tab to see the frame width and height. Compare it with the standard file if you downloaded both.
Need only the sound? Use the TikTok to MP3 page. For slideshow posts, use the TikTok photo downloader.
TikTok HD downloader FAQ
How do I download a TikTok video in HD?
Copy the link of a public TikTok post, paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Download. If TikTok provides an HD file for that post, an HD button appears first on the result card.
Why is there no HD button for some videos?
SaveMyClip can only offer the files TikTok makes available. If the original upload was low resolution, or TikTok gives only one version, you will see just the standard file.
Is the HD video also without a watermark?
The main download is offered without the TikTok watermark where TikTok supplies a clean file. For a detailed explanation of watermarks, see our no-watermark page.
Does HD mean 1080p or 4K?
Not necessarily. HD here means the higher-quality version TikTok provides for the post. The exact resolution depends on the original upload and is not something we change or upscale.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes. It is free, runs in your browser and needs no sign-up or app. Please only save content you have permission to use.
Respect creators
Only download content you own or have permission to use, and credit the creator when you share it. See our DMCA policy for details.
